Do you suffer from FOMO (otherwise known as “fear of missing out”)? Does the idea that some infinitely intriguing person/place/thing is currently flitting through your general sphere of being — WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE — cause your heart to constrict with terror?

Well, friends, we hear you. Having just returned from the liquor- (and other liquid-) soaked climes of Austin and SXSW, we’re pretty sure we only experienced about 1.3% of all “Cool Things” present at that havoc-wrecked fest.

Apple’s China legal battle over iPad spreads to U.S.

The Asian firm trying to stop Apple Inc from using the iPad name in China has launched an attack on the consumer electronics giant’s home turf, filing a lawsuit in California that accuses the iPhone-maker of employing deception when it bought the “iPad” trademark.

A unit of Proview International Holdings Ltd, a major computer monitor maker that fell on hard times during the economic crisis, is already suing the U.S. company in multiple Chinese jurisdictions and requesting that sales of iPads be suspended across the country.

Who hasn’t spent a few moments sitting at a departure gate wondering who you might be seated next to for the next few hours? You hope it’s not the family with the hyperactive child or the nervous flyer who unfortunately, for them and you, is out of valium.

Now Dutch airline KLM has tapped into our in-built social screening to offer a service that will let you know more about fellow flyers well before take off. Launched this month as part of their online booking service, “Meet & Seat” allows passengers to link their Facebook or LinkedIn profiles to the seats they choose.

Facebook’s Timeline now available to everyone

People around the world began seeing messages from Facebook on Thursday encouraging them to start scrapbooking their life.

The service’s new Timeline profiles, which Facebook introduced nearly three months ago at its annual conference, is now available to any of the site’s 800 million users who decide to activate it. Soon, Facebook will turn it on for everybody with an alert at the top of profiles, the company said in a blog post.

Timeline will arrange a user’s posts, photos and important milestones (weddings, births of children, etc.) chronologically in two columns of information, with a blue line marked by dates running vertically down the middle. On the right, visitors can easily skip to certain months or years to see what was happening at that time in a person’s life, and below that is advertisements.
