HTC says Google-Motorola bid would not affect its ties

HTC, the world’s No.5 smartphone maker, said on Tuesday the proposed bid by Google to acquire Motorola Mobility would not affect its partnership with Google.

“This a positive development to the Android ecosystem, which we believe is beneficial to HTC’s promotion of Android phones,” HTC said in a statement. “The partnership between HTC and Google remains strong and will not be affected by this acquisition.”

Killer Highway

There is a thing now going on in the commonwealth avenue that they tagged it as a killer highway because everyday there is always a lot of accidents happening there! I agree to their new rules on having a limit speed of 60 kilometers per hour and I am sure it will lessen the accidents and casualties in that area. Fake bin Laden links spreading malicious software

As news spread that the White House won’t release photos of Osama bin Laden’s body, federal authorities and security experts on Wednesday were urging Web users to be careful clicking on fake links claiming to offer images or video about his death.

Since the U.S.-led raid that killed bin Laden on Sunday, e-mail inboxes and social-media sites like Facebook have been flooded with bad links that, at best, are unwanted spam and, at worst, contain harmful computer viruses.

People in the cybersecurity industry aren’t surprised. Big news events, as well as popular public figures (think Anna Kournikova and Justin Bieber) are often used as click bait for spammers and scammers.
“I suppose this was inevitable,” Dave Marcus, head of security research for McAfee Labs, wrote in a blog post. “The reported death of Osama Bin Laden is just too good a lure for cybercriminals and scammers to pass up.”

Facebook, YouTube the new battlegrounds in Singapore elections

The odds are always stacked against opposition candidates in Singapore elections and for Nicole Seah, a political novice contesting in the backyard of a popular former prime minister, they should be overwhelming.
