Mega64: Assassin’s Creed — Imagine a squad of goofballs that take games and re-enact them in public places. That is what Mega64 is all about. This cult favorite among the gaming set has been around for some time–and you’ll find plenty more of their stuff on YouTube (and at mega64.com)

Last (no. 7), but not least, check out the Microsoft SongSmith meme that’s busting out on YouTube. When we first reported it a few days back, we were getting sucked in by all the horrible musical mash-ups. Now, we’ve already assembled our five “favorite” songs here!

China closes 91 websites in crackdown

China has shut down 91 websites for pornographic and other “vulgar” content, as well as a political blog portal, since announcing its latest bid to ensure Internet morality, state media said on Monday.

China’s ruling Communist Party is wary of threats to its grip on information and has conducted numerous censorship efforts targeting pornography, political criticism and Web scams, but officials flagged tougher steps this time.

Bash Bush site sells on eBay in four days

The Internet entrepreneur behind an online video game inviting users to throw footwear at President George W. Bush sold the property on eBay in just four days, he told Reuters on Friday.

Briton Alex Tew, who made Internet history in 2006 when he made a million dollars selling pixels at a dollar each on milliondollarhomepage.com, set up sockandawe.com on Monday after an Iraqi journalist made headlines worldwide by pelting the visiting U.S. President with his footwear.

What Tew called a “stupid little flash game” started getting millions of hits, threatening to overload the servers for a new humor site Tew is building.

“Koobface” virus turns up on Facebook

Facebook’s 120 million users are being targeted by a virus dubbed “Koobface” that uses the social network’s messaging system to infect PCs, then tries to gather sensitive information such as credit card numbers.

It is the latest attack by hackers increasingly looking to prey on users of social networking sites.
