Nikon D3000

I changed my mind, I do not want Nikon D90 anymore and I want Nikon D3000 now. My friends in the Digital Photography club recommends D3000 or D5000 for a new entry level Nikonians slash photographer or hobbiest. They said that getting a high end camera for a beginner would just mess up all the good things on getting pictures then if you think it is time to upgrade then buy a new camera.
