Comcast’s Fandango buys Movies.com site
Entertainment site Fandango.com bought Movies.com from the Walt Disney Co to widen its offering of celebrity news and movies reviews.
Fandango is a part of Comcast Corp, a major cable company, they said it will help them with their expansion on movies, theater and marketing advertisements. They also sell tickets online.
According to Nielsen Ratings, Fandango has 6.3 million unique visitors in May while Movies.com had 1.9 million visitors. Fandango is said to be profitable this year for search and advertising from google and yahoo.
Terms of the deal were not revealed.
